I've lost any respect I ever had for George R.R. Martin. Count me as another person who never before loathed an author while still loving his series.

Even if Mr. Martin is unwilling to discuss the exact progression of ADwD in his updates for fear of setting up expectations that might be dashed, he could still post some interesting tidbits of information. Which characters will have the most chapters, and how many will they have? Which characters will have the fewest? Will we find out the fates of Cersei and Brienne? Will ADwD’s timeline extend beyond AFfC’s? Will the book cover everything he wanted it to? How many words does he expect it to have? Will there be new maps, and if so, of where? There are many possibilities ( ... )

However, what you find inside the room is nothing but disappointment. There’s no prototype, no specifications, no design concept drawings, nothing. The walls are bare, and you can see dust floating in the air from the light coming in through the windows. The only thing inside the room is a worn wooden pedestal on which rests a yellowing sheet of paper, reading “I’m still not done with the IceFire Mark V. When I do, I’ll change the message here straightaway. Meanwhile, I suggest that you check out my other car series, the Huntress and the Road Card.
