Yesterday's post seems to have triggered a huge outpouring of comments, and I see the same issues being discussed all over the internet, in a hundred different places. Needless to say, there's a huge range of opinions, but some of the polls I've looked at suggest the majority of Americans are okay with these new TSA "security" measures because,

Seriously, you make some excellent points. I suspect the repression is a lot more subtle than just having to show an id everywhere you go. I never used to think twice before telling someone I was an ACLU cardholder. I never used to think twice before mentioning I was non-Christian. But I'm an innocent, so I have nothing to hide, right? Right?
