Philosophy(ASOIAF)

Hey, George.

The series of A Song of Ice and Fire is packed with a boatload of philosophy. I am wondering whether or not there has existed any great philosophers similar to the Greek philosophers, Socrates and Aristotle, or religious philosopher such as Aquinas. Though, it is highly likely that magical forces may have hampered philosophy. At least how we know it within our world. You probably will not say one way or the other in regards to that.

I do have one question, however. Which character do you think is the best philosopher?

This being a Wild Cards topic, I would have to say the greatest philosopher was Jay Ackroyd.

Or maybe that was just the greatest smartass.

After all these tempting entries, I started Wild Cards a few weeks ago and I am totally hooked. I hope to see your readers in the near future clamouring for the next Wild Cards book as now we are doing with The Winds of Winter.

My lord George of House Martin,

I understand writing, especially the way you write is exceptionally hard. I'm a small time writer myself and know how bloody difficult quality writing is.

I do not for an instant doubt your commitment towards finishing this God's work called ASOIAF. I trust you whole heartedly and thank the Gods, old and new, for sending GRRM to this earth.

However, at the same time I'm really starving for some news related to that book. With season 7 just about 100 days away, could you please tell us something, lest rumors start flooding the internet once more?
