This announcement really pleases me. One of my favorite singer/ songwriters, the one and only JANIS IAN, will be visiting Santa Fe later this month, and performing two shows at the Jean Cocteau

So very glad to see another Janis fan!thekels1244February 5 2015, 23:03:31 UTC
My parents used to play this song when I was a small child, and as a result, I ended up a life-long Janis Ian fan. I truly wish I didn't live so far away from NM, or I'd make the trip down to see her play.
I hope the shows are wonderful, they sure sound like they will be!
On a side note, I live in the Northern VA area. Saw this little gem from a post a few weeks back... " Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Peoples"... Cannot say I've seen that one before, but by gods, did it make me laugh!!! Today I learned a new nickname for the Washington Redskin Potatoes. :)

I had a feeling it may not have been, but it still gave me a good laugh :)
As much as the "fans" around here seem to rip on the team when they're stinking it up (every year), I'm surprised it hasn't caught on actually - i.e. they're always coming up with creative names for the team when they're not doing well. My father raised me as a Steelers fan, so I don't pay as much attention as I could to the local football talk... maybe I just haven't heard it before?
Perchance one day I will travel to see Sante Fe and its many sights, including the Jean Cockteau. Fourtune may smile upon me soon, as I'm soon to publish my novel. It's about time traveling Centaurs who take over a Taco cart and turn it into an exhibit for the disenfranchised. But just as they find success, many vagabonds move into the cart, take it over, and won't ever leave. The protagonists realise they will be defeated unless... well, I could go on, but you'll have to wait until it gets published. Thanks for listening to my long tales.
Long been a Janis Ian fan, so happy you are getting to host her. As always Great Ser, thank you for all that you do.
the Lion in Winter?ext_446116February 14 2015, 20:23:13 UTC
Great news about Janis. But I have a Movie question. What are your thoughts on the 1968 movie, "The Lion in Winter" staring K. Hepburn and Peter O'toole? Did it have an influence on your art? Will you show it at your theater?

On a hunch, I took my camera along and sure enough, the audience was welcome to take photos.
