I've Chabon's Gentlemen of the Road, which is beautifully illustrated with Gianni's artwork, and I've admired (but have yet to manage to find an affordable set of) the Wandering Star Conan books. Art on almost every page sounds a bit like those works, which is quite exciting!
Pity that HBO can't rent out or sell the film & TV rights of Westeros corresponding to Dunk & Egg to another company. Maybe D&D will do the miniseries since GOT ends after 8 seasons (hopefully) After watching GOT on HBO, there's small chance someone else can match the quality of writing/casting/production that D&D & co. have done & I fear (wrongly perhaps) that anyone else would be a letdown after this magnificence...
So when you say artwork on every page, do you mean that it will be one page of words on one side with the page on the right being the paintings/drawings? A near 1 to 1 ratio?
Wow! That sounds like a real treat! All my thanks to you, Gary and the publishers.
Yay! I've loved Gary's work since first seeing his back-up stories in Hellboy. He's a master of Black and White. I can't wait to see him play in Westeros again.
PS: I, for one, have grown quite fond of the title "The She-wolves of Winterfell". I hope it sticks :)
I love your writing but haven't been able to follow Dunk & Egg since I don't live in US/UK. Now you've cleared everything for me and I'll wait for the illustrated edition of A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS. GL with all your projects!
