I Think you should be as discerning with who you license your work to with games as you have been with television and movies. Yes, I realize it's a business and good money can be made from harnessing the popularity of your actual writing but if you spent four times the amount of time finding a flagship and critically accomplished game company that can do your writing justice and release only one "song of ice and fire" game rather than four mediocre ones you spent a quarter of the time dealing with you'd probably make as much money(and probably win over even more fans) and you'd conserve your artistic vision. Games these days can be as respected by the younger generation for story, plot, and immersion as movies and tv shows. Just some friendly constructive criticism. I love your writing and I'm a huge fan. Can't wait for the next book!
I don't do social games myself... not even on Facebook... but ASCENT has gotten rave reviews from everyone who's played it.
And while bugs have been reported on the Cyanide video RPG, most of the reviews I have seen have given the game high marks for "story, plot, and immersion," the very things you say are important.
That makes two of us...but I was attracted by the premise of this one. I support Greyjoy, and my lord's name is 'Goffrey'...pretty cool to make one's own banner, etc.
i'm curious, how much input did you yourself have on this one? Names, any writing, did you approve any sigils or character names??
