Have you tried Vibram 5fingers? Are you going to? If not why not?

One of my friends just got some (for a raft trip, she's not a runner) and loves them.

I think of them as expensive, but I guess they're about the same as regular running shoes. And I've heard they last a long time because there's no cushy stuff to break down.

So yeah, I'll probably try them eventually if they stick around. If I can get over how trendy they are. :D

I've never liked shoes without socks, though, and toe socks seem like overkill.
