Remember when I said I was going to try to start writing shorter, more digestible entries? This is not one of them. But since I'm so super nice, I'll cut for length so the boring doesn't take up your whole f-list for a day.

Oh, and e-machines are kind of crap. I had one once and would never do it again. I think I got 2 years out of it. My Compaq, on the other hand, is 3 or 4 years old and I'm still happy with its performance.

Are they? They're made by Gateway, which I thought was a safe name. Our first computer was an HP and we had problems so I was leery, but that was 17 years ago (computers were so new HP had a little guy that looked like Mr. Monopoly that popped up ALL THE TIME to help with every damn screen. Maybe that's why we hated it). I always thought HP was like a Walmart top-of-the-line product (crappy mass production but at least a recognizable name brand), so we'll see.
So far apart from taskbar settings mysteriously changing themselves, 7 is pretty exciting. But probably all the super cool new things I'm impressed with were taken from Vista.

My mom also just got a new computer with Windows 7 cause the old one was too old and slow.
Hmmmmmmmmm, coincidences??

It's not a coincidence at all. I am your friend and your mother. I'm you and I'm me. Kind of like Edmond Dantes in "Vendetta."
Does she totally love Windows 7? I totally love it.

She's not so much into computers, so she mainly just likes that it's faster. I set it up for her, and I like it a lot. I don't think I'll upgrade from vista unless I have to, but it'll be nice when I get a new computer.

I like the speed, but I also like all the little changes. Coming from XP it's pretty radically different (you probably felt the same way going to Vista) and at first I was like, "I'll never figure this out" because EVERYTHING was different. But the more I poke around the more I like how much easier a lot of the changes make it.
