dang, K - how much does this thing weigh??? my neighbor recently acquired a mirrorless camera and likes it. however, wouldn't you still be using the same HEAVY lenses?
Yes, but eventually over time, I would get the smaller lens - such as Leica's ($$$$$$$) - and then the weight would start to decrease. Likely about the same time my bones become too brittle to carry anything at all. lol.
So fun to see all that you bring with you. I do recognize a lot of that (including the shootsac bag) from what I pack :-) I do not bring my external flash - because it's not allowed to use flash at JIB.
The big grey lens - what is that? It looks like the size of my new lens, and I have never brought that before. I am anxious to see how it is to carry such a big lens around.
Oh, it's good to know JIB doesn't allow flash so I won't even bother to pack it. I likely would not have anyway because from the distance of our seat a flash would be totally useless anyway.
It's my Canon 70-200ml lens. VERY heavy, but worth carrying around so I don't begrudge it at all. I still need to check out your new lens. Now that I shoot full frame and due to our seat location, I'm thinking I should look at something longer than 200mm. But the Canon 300mm is an F4 which for con shooting is problematic. I need to go pull up your email/message about what your new lens is. I've never gone non-Canon before but if that is a fast enough lens and not a bank-breaker I may consider it. Or renting it.
