Ok, so I'm working on getting more into Twitter and Facebook. I think LJ will always be my venue of choice. But #luciferiscoming and #vancon and
@mishacollins has turned my anti-Twitter to a maybe-Twitter.
I think I've asked this before, but I believe more LJ folks are getting onto Twitter (likely mostly due to
@mishacollins).

And yea, I forgot about employers and searching the internet. I've always been very conscious about that. It's not that I feel I have anything to hide--I don't. But what someone might randomly find online, taken out of context with the "whole, real me" could be very easily misconstrued.

And I've ended the day by taking steps to definitively separate the personaes on FB, Twitter, and LJ by user ID and email as well. I need my "safe" space to be silly without worrying about my professional appearance.
And yea, context is everything I think. People who know me through work would likely know all about my "silly" hobby. But they would know it *from* me, not from some random search where they find "lucifer is rising". heh.

I actually read Misha's tweets, but I just check in on what he's up to once in a while. I find Twitter is just too much for me, at least for now.
ETA: Forgot to mention that I also have Jim, Traci and Aldis friended on FB and belong to a couple fannish groups, so that's another way I don't really keep it separate.

I started this morning seriously considering combining everything into one personae.
And I've ended the day by taking steps to definitively separate the personaes on FB, Twitter, and LJ by user ID and email as well. I need my "safe" space to be silly without worrying about my professional appearance.
So LJ & Twitter are more for fandom. But I just set up a "professional" Twitter account as well, since I've begun to network through Twitter. And Facebook is for non-fandom RL (mostly friends/family, but also professional friends as well.)

i've had a facebook account for so long i don't even know WHERE i got that username, so obviously don't even get in there at all.
i like my privacy.
i guess LJ's my fandom place of choice....and apparently i'm old school, as i prefer email and/or the telephone.
