SPN LA Con 2009 - Gabe Photos (one stop shopping)

I've included links to vids or other photo posts (wolfpup2000 for example) at the bottom of this post for my own reference. If you haven't already checked out wolfpup2000's photos (and I'm betting you have!), see the link under these photos for some fantastic close ups.
I've also put some comments in with the photos. These are from my recollection augmented by some videos I've seen. I'm not going to promise to do this for all the posts. I may run out of patience. But I like the idea of being able to refer back to this later.

Overall conclusion - Gabe is ADORABLE!
But we all already knew that...
Gabe did a recurring schtick throughout his panel about his new movie...Skills Like This! (website link). It was freakin' hilarious. He would intersperse the title of the movie....Skills Like This...at every possible moment. I think he got up to 25+ references of the movie. And each time he said it, the audience cheered! He was so very, very cute.

Gabe was asked about his SPN audition. He said he first auditioned for the role of the wanna-a-be boyfriend of the zombie chick in Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. He didn't understand why he didn't get that part--but then he ended up with a much better part! So it's all good.
While he was answering this question, his cell phone rang. He pulled it out and said, "Oh! It's my orthodontist!" He then put the phone on speaker and we all heard the automatic voice reminder of his upcoming appointment. For his invisi-line (sp?) braces. It was so funny! I didn't get pictures of it. However, I believe I saw some in wolfpup2000's photos which I've linked to below. Plus you can see video of it in BabyBlueSteel's vid below titled "His Audition."
Gabe said he thought the character of Andy was awesome because he had special powers and he had an evil twin--"double awesome." While waiting to go in for the audition Gabe said he would look at the other actors in the room and think they looked great for the part--that "he looked high" for example.

Gabe was asked what he would do with Andy's powers. "Everything!" he said. He said he'd try to do some good things but that he wasn't above having people give him lots of money, for example. That he'd be a modern day Robin Hood....but just for himself! Although he did say he should probably give to charity and help people--he said with an exaggerated sigh.

Gabe was asked the inevitable "Did the boys prank you?" question. Honestly I'm beginning to wonder if the boys really prank that many people who are not on the show regularly. Because everyone seems to say, "No. And I feel left out."
However, Gabe did have a story. During the filming of the scene where Andy is in the back seat of the Impala. Gabe hears the boys giggling in the front seat just before they are about to call action. One of the boys says to Gabe, "here, check this out." And shows him a rather disgusting photo on a cell phone. Gabe said he almost threw up and then he heard, "Rolling!" He figured they didn't end up using *that* take.
He also repeated a story I'd heard before that when the boys play a prank between the two of them, you can hear a yell from one of the trailers, "Dammit Jared!"

Creation did a great job with the decorations at this con. Somehow (I never heard the particulars) they ended up with the props from that recent Jared/Sam & Jensen/Dean promo photos and used them on stage and off. I loved it. I have pictures of the gargoyle and angel that I'll post later in my miscellaneous post. But in #7 below you can see a bit of the props.

Gabe was asked how he'd film Kripke's death scene and referred to a show called, "Swimming with Sharks." And that Kripke could save himself was by writing Andy's return. He then said there could be a whole show of Andy driving around in the van touring America.

Gabe was asked to do impressions of the boys. He chose to do so by imitating their height. First Jensen by climbing to the foot rest of his chair (photo group 10). He then scrowled a bit.

Then he climbed higher on the chair. I could almost hear the Creation show-runners thinking, "omg! don't fall! don't fall!"

I would suggest however that if you haven't already, check out wolfpup2000's post of her Gabe's photos. Hers are outstanding and may do you better for iconning, etc.
My autograph from Gabe.
I did a piece of fanart for each of the guests for this con. I think I'm going to post all of the together in one post and also include the individual's autographs on the page devoted to them (because I'm an obsessive geek that way!) These images are from my camera - so they are not totally clear. My scanner is in storage right now and not hooked up.
Gabe signed autographs early on Friday since he had a personal commitment later in the day. We were lucky to be first in line. Gabe was handing out stickers for his new movie.

And Gabe's autograph'ed photo. My friend was with me in the autograph line and she always pointed out to the signer that I'd done these myself. I didn't know she was going to do that and had moved out of the autograph area. She told me later that Gabe thought the photo was terrific. *smiles* This is one of my favorite that I did because I really think it shows Andy's character.
