if you want to have a REAL headtrip... read House of Leaves 'cause this book is unlike anything i've ever read before.
And I read quite a bit.

It's been on my list for a while now. Though I can't remember why it became so controversial in the first place.

have you ever read a book with it's own fictional footnotes?
how about references and cross references to documents that don't exist? just think of how JRR Tolkien invented middle earth down to drawing a map.
now think bigger.
two authors over an original narrative of a core event... that was fabricated for this story. and all the commentary too.
it's a compendium... for itself.
it says it's a novel, but it's larger and more erudite than my philosophy textbook.

They got that random spunky radical cyberpunk girl kidnapped and nearly brainwashed by Christians from the future. It's actually beautiful to read.

i'll have to peep it if i remember. lots of stuff in a pile... sorta piled up when House of Leaves became a daunting task.
