Well...the people living twenty years after the Protestant Reformation probably thought we were slow too. Not that I don't think we aren't slow *cough*civilrights*cough*movement*
The 20th century was a time of rapid change, and I think it's just that fact that we live right after those times that we can look back and see just how much it affected us. I have a German friend who was probably around 8 or 9 years old when the wall came down, but I've never asked him about it...
YAY for change! <3 (If I have offened anybody with this comment I'm sorryyyyyy!!!)
Hahaha, I guess it's just perspective? I mean, I'm eighteen years old and I think I'm old, but when I look back and see that all this stuff that I consider "in the past" or "people don't really think that way now" (i.e. Holocaust, genocide, forced starvation), is, uhm, not that long ago! It's pretty naive of me to think that, I'll admit it, but it's...interesting to think about? I don't really know where I was going with this!
I'm pretty sure your comment didn't offend anybody :) It's good to talk about this stuff, it's how one learns!
^_^ Well, I've never talked about serious stuff like this on the internet before so I was kinda nervous. People on youtube get upset really easily and start never-ending flame wars :P
Also, I'm actually not much younger than you and I even I think it's "not that long ago" so I know what you mean.
