How I Built a Raspberry Pi TabletWhen I set out to build my Raspberry Pi tablet I wanted something different. I wanted an all-in-one system that was usable, portable, and Linux based.
PiPad BuildThe principle components of the enclosure are 1/2″ Baltic birch plywood and 1/16″ carbon fiber (for the back).

The awkward bits are normally graphics and wireless drivers.
There isn't a mention of any problems with out-of-the-box wireless support, and a quick web search doesn't show up much newer for Monoprice than this which is from 2011, so those problems might be fixed by now.
The closed part of the Pi graphics stack is essentially firmware, which is good enough for me, and the Pi gets bonus points anyway for trying to be open and accessible in the first place. So, yeah, I'd go for one of those.
Why, are you thinking of starting another new product line now that the Picade is shipping? :-)
