Just beautiful. *sigh* I was sitting here today thinking about GD and how I finally stopped watching it every single day, and how I'd like to watch it again, and then you post this. And I gotta go to WORK, but I think after I'll watch and then reread all the chapters so far, just to wallow in the rightness of it all. *another happy sigh*

Nick's got some learning to do. No way that Gil did that little reading bit by accident. Nick's nightmare was about being alone and being forgotten, so what does Gil do? Leaves a light on while assuring Nick of his presence without a word. It's not safe to just touch yet, so this is the next best thing. I truly mean that. I can't remember how many times I was comforted by my father reading his book, one small light on in the room. In the morning I'd wake up in my own bed and wonder how I got there.

This building up is wonderful. Realistic. Logical. Comforting and achingly sad at the same time. *eyes comments* Normally that would sound so wrong for fanfic cuz who wants reality? *g* But this is beautiful.

He didn't even know, did he? He didn't even know what he'd done. Exactly.

*Sigh* I don't know that I can even articulate the right words at this moment to say how beautiful this is. Not-so-patiently waiting for more.

Gil is so incredibly perfect for Nick right now-- he's not overemotional, and he's approaching Nicky like a puzzle that needs solving. He's not going to push, he;s just going to prod a little until he figures out the results.

It's like his more important experiment EVER, and I think he's going to learn a whole hell of a lot about himself too. Oh, my, yes. *thinks of first kisses*
