This is COMPLETELY random but I have a strong desire to watch the 90's cartoon FREAKAZOID for some reason. I think it's cuz I was watching a giant YouTube of 90's cartoon show openings. I remember disliking Freakazoid growing up. I thought it was stupid. Now, I think I might actually enjoy it. It looks hilarious, but I don't really know. XD ( Read more... )

David the Gnome! Goof Troop! I loved those shows!

I was a big fan of Freakazoid, too. I'm excited that it's coming to DVD. :)

Haha, man I was having a similar conversation not too long ago! I didn't realize how much I changed until just recently with the new Simpsons ride, recapping old episodes. I never liked it much growing up and now that I'm going back to old episodes I absolutely LOVE it.

Like you I never was a fan of Freakazoid, but maybe I'll get the humor more now that I'm a little older. Totally grew up on David the Gnome and Goof Troop, though!

Cartoons today.. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan myself. Makes me a slipshod animation major when the entire class is raving about things like Avatar and I just can't share their enthusiasm.

Actually, art majors aside, a lot of older people really like Avatar because of it's better-than-average (I might even say good) writing, especially in comparison to other contemporary cartoon shows for the same age bracket. It doesn't have really crappy lines or dialogue or setup, and it's enjoyable without being completely limited by its target audience's age group. :D

I agree :D

I didn't think I'd like Avatar at first, because I figured it was just a crappy attempt at westernized anime. But after the first couple of a episodes I was hooked. I really enjoy the story and I love the art direction and designs. Dude, that upside-down air temple? BADASS! And fire Aztecs! :D And the characters are well written, I think. Sometimes the animation isn't top notch, especially in the first season, but it gets much better.

HELL YES, DAVID THE GNOME. Though I do remember thinking foxes were huge because of that show, heh. Little Shannon had not yet fully developed her cognitive skills.
