It's kinda early, isn't it? I've no idea about songmaking and stuff, but from what I heard (friend of a friend circle) it usually takes a month or so to produce a song from scratch, from first lyric draft to recording. :/
Well, that's mostly if you want it semi-professional sounding. If you're doing it all by yourself and recording with your computer or something, it'll take about a week; with people involved it takes less.
(I mix tracks for this garage band in my neighborhood.
I love your icon. And I suppose it depends on the resources available ... hm. My band has always churned out a song a week, but then again, we did tremendously suck. :D
They got on like a cauldron on fire... there's a song called "Boil me a kettle of strong, hot love" (I think that's the title)...
You fill in the blanks. XD P'rhaps Albus sent in the lyrics... hey, nothing wrong with being bad at poetry, particularly if you're Order of Merlin First Class, etc.
Ahahaha, yeah, that would be A Cauldron of Hot, Strong Love. XD It's by Celestina Warbeck in the books, but Katerina Songmaker sang a perfect rendition of it. :D
Oh, I love this idea! I can't wait to see what's out there -- I love me my Wizard Rock! ((If I were better at song-writing, I'd offer to help, but alas, I'm not very good at it.))

I'm still up for writing a few, though!

I would do it myself, but for the fact that I'm musically illiterate :D
