That story was beautiful, poetic and nostalgic. And so sad. It captures their relationship so well, and I can imagine this fitting into the canon.

Second person is glorious when you can pull it off. And you can, holy shit.

The dynamic of the prose is great too - you can really see the urgency in it, and I think that suits this pairing in the original instance more than anything. I haven't written it in ages myself, but I'm glad I still check this comm. The characterization is spot-on for them too.

tl;dr This was awesome; made me remember the AD/GG heyday. (And, well, it's an awesome fic in its own right.)
