Bulletpoint thoughts

I very much suck at updating and replying to my comments.

Remember when I used to update often? Yeah, I miss those days too!

In bullet points because, apparently that's all I'm capable today:

  • The Vampire Diaries: I admit, I was judge-y. I judged. I thought it was just a Twilight on TV but it wasn't! I've been seeing posts aout TVD for some ( Read more... )

tv: fnl, tv: vampire diaries, smallville, vmars

I really recommend starting from the beginning with Vampire Diaries. Yes, the first couple eps are .. twilight esque and finding their legs a bit, but they find their legs quite fast and it's an extremely steady uphill climb from there - and very serialized. They chew through a lot of plot in every ep (but manage to keep it very tied to the characters).

I was all "whatever, twilight ripoff" at the beginning too, but it became - hands down - my vote for most entertaining show of the new season.

Thanks! I'll try to get all the episodes then!

Its such a pleasant surprise that a show I thought would be meh would actually turn out to be good!

I don't know if I can recommend any particular episode -- I wasn't particularly impacted by many of them as a whole -- but I would definitely recommend the books. The show is a step up from Twilight, but it steps down from the books in an effort to appeal to the Twilight crowd.

I'm surprised with VD too! I really thought it would nothing but Twilight on TV but it turns out it isn't!

FNL is! I just love it so much!

TVD: If you find yourself too irritated with the early episodes, skip forward to Episode 5/6 when they start one of their earlier plots. Or episode 9, where they start the plots which occupy the rest of the season (you basically saw the climax of that in the finale).

Thanks! I'll think I will start on episode 9 since you mentioned the finale!
