There are two independent movies Sarah Shahi I've been keeping my eye on, one is Shades of Ray which is the romantic comedy with Zachary Levi and the other is AmericanEast, a drama about the lives of ordinary American muslims struggling to live in a post 9-11 world.

the scary thing is, I might've written the prologue to it...a "SkyNet protects Earth where the stargate failed" and a "Dani and Crews talk to John and Sarah Connor". both were ficlets/drabbles.

I'll try writing it if you do too; that's fair, right?

I've seen AE, and it really is a great film. It is so different from anything I've seen lately.

I heard about it because it also stars Tony Shalhoub (my fellow Wisconsinite), and was thrilled to hear that Sarah, as well as Constance Zimmer (Dana Gordon from Entourage) were also in it.

Sarah does a great job playing Salwah. It is a character who is VERY different from Dani Reese, so it was interesting to see. I don't want to give much away about the movie, but it is definitely worth checking out!

See, now I'm even more interested to see the movie because of this. Like I've mentioned, I'm curious how Sarah handles playing different characters and it's good to hear that she could play different characters. I'm just so glad she's being given the opportunity to play more than the roles she's been pigeonholed earlier.

I think you'll like this one. Obviously this is not a big budget, star-studded movie...but I really think it tells an important story that mainstream America needs to think about. I can't imagine being Arab and living in post-9/11 US of A.

Sarah's character Salwah is different than Dani Reese, yet she is still a strong character...but it's a different kind of strength. She's fighting traditional and societal roles....while Dani Reese fights herself, her past, her deamons..etc.

I will definitely look forward to this movie but I'm hoping to catch Shades of Ray too. I like drama but I'm looking forward to that romantic comedy.

Salwah is shaping up to be such an interesting character!
