YAY for internet! Sometimes lots of persistent yelling works. :D
Meanwhile, the SkyCable people didn't show up. I was not pleased. Got a call tonight, though, from an apologetic cable guy. Apparently cable internet capability hasn't been activated for our area yet. Which made no sense for me, frankly -- isn't it just a matter of jacking it in and lettin 'er rip?
It's very ironic I know more about US Networks than I am of Pinoy TV networks (which, in all honesty just boils down to two - GMA and ABS).
Ditto here -- though I think it's more UK networks for me. Can you blame us? I can't tell the local soaps apart (there's always someone screaming/crying every time I switch channels) and the variety shows are just horribly blatant exploitation of everyone except the emcees (will somebody, anybody, please drop-kick Willie Revillame in the nuts?). I think the Pinoy channel I watch the most is DZMM Teleradyo.
I did try watching one of Richard Gutierrez's superhero shows and ended up just screaming with laughter over Captain Barbell's
( ... )
Eep. Sorry about the SkyCable guys not arriving, at least they called?
...yeah, I got nothin'
will somebody, anybody, please drop-kick Willie Revillame in the nuts?
From your lips to God's ears. I hope when that finally happens they have steel toed boots.
Haha. I didn't attempt the Richard Gutierrez's Smallville ripoff Captain Barbell show but I did try out Jericho Rosales' Panday(?).
The swordfight scene was actually good and when he finished for no apparent reason he sat his ass down on the nearest tree and started emoting about some girl. In the middle of the forest. Alone.
TV networks are disgusting, corrupt and just ridiculous in the decisions they make. I've given up hoping for tv shows and all that because it's not worth the effort, all the good shows are shelved and the shitty ones (*cough* reality tv) seem to be able to stay on networks for years and years. It's a drag and it's not fair, but network do not listen to the fans so its really not worth my breath unfortunately. What will happen will happen, I do hope that Life gets renewed or at least gets its 24 (?) episodes this season.
hey i tried logging into showfax today and the account has expired and omg i wanted the ncis sides :( i was wondering, would you like to share an account? it's $68/year so we could share making it $34 each or get more people do donate (and share the account) so we could subscribe. ideas?
Damn. I suspected as much when Ausiello moved from TV Guide. I could help with the sharing but I'm afraid we need to get more people since I'm... currently, um, between jobs.
While you were gone, I decided to stop worrying and love The Mentalist. And then I wrote a short fic.
:)
Meanwhile, NBC seems to be running neck in neck with The CW as most stupid network ever.
The low ratings have driven them mad, I fear.
((tsks sadly))
The scripted TV producers/writers don't like the idea of the loss of five hours of prime time slots, and I don't either. I hate any move toward less scripted TV. Grr.
*sigh* I also hate the idea of less scripted TV. I hate any move towards it. I can't understand why Silverman and Zucker still have jobs while good people like Katherine Pope lose theirs.
