You all still have a golden opportunity to go and see my exhibition if you haven't yet. Tomorrow is a public holiday and it's open all day, so feel free to go down and check it out.
Yes! I highly recommend that everyone get along and see it. It's a cool little collection of artworks. I had a look this afternoon.
I was very impressed by seeing Backyard Conversation in real life after glimpsing the preview on Flickr. At first my eye was drawn to the luminous girl, but then I started to noticed the little details - the grass, fence, trees, birds and their textures and depths. Finding interesting in the ordinary is one of my favourite things. And as I scribbled in my notebook at the time, "What lies beyond the fence? She knows, but she ain't gonna tell."
There was good stuff from the other artists. I especially liked Fa'amele Etuale's pieces and David Capisarow's gleefully obnoxious cultural confusion works.
wow thanks a heap! yeah i really liked fa'mele and david's work, i also really really liked linda's stuff, the painted cabinet and the large scale landscapes, they wuz awesome yo! from what i know of him, david himself is quite a gleeful chap so it's good to see that his personality comes through in his work! :)
we unpacked it all on friday, sorry i didn't reply sooner! haven't been monitoring lj lately, i didn't sell so you can always visit and see for yourself :)

So much enjoyment in such a little space!
