I know its not even August yet but, I'm eagerly anticipating and preparing for this coming October's 100 horror movie in a month marathon. While I was out last night I browsed the dvds at a pawn shop and got One Missed Call, Skeleton Key, Dawn of the Dead and Sweeney Todd (still in plastic) for $2.50 a piece. I've been stacking my Netflix queue ( Read more... )

Last year? Umm…
-Glass House 2 (the ending is good)
-Silent Hill (the logic has more holes than a colander)
-The hills have eyes (1-2) (pretty brutal)
-The haunting (interesting, but with logic holes)
-Pan’s Labyrinth (if you can stand SAW, you can stand that, too)
-Final Destination 4 (I liked the first three, so yeah)
-The Ring (1-2) (TV will never be the same again)
-The call (snores)
-Urban Legends (lmao)

As Horror is not my forte (Ask me about Mel Brooks or Anime ;) ) You know my thoughts on Japanese or Asian horror in general. The Koreans and Japanese sure know how to make you want to sleep with a light on, that's for sure. But here is a list..

Sorority Row, Last House On The Left (New and Original), Critters (Classic AND it has Scott Grimes ((Swoon)), The Reaping, Cujo (Any Stephen King horror flick)

Have you seen "Audition"? It's my favorite horror film, and it's Japanese. I got into J-Horror because every time we in the U.S. would remake one of their films, I would go and watch the original (which, of course, was always a million times better).

And Scott Grimes<3

I recall that it was difficult to do last year, mostly because people seemed to get their feelings hurt that I kept going to my room to watch movies. I watched a few in the living room with the family and then they decided that it was only a month, and would see me in November. lol

When you get your tentative list together, let me see it and we can compare. :D

Aw, that's sweet! They missed you! I wouldn't have that problem. Nobody would care if they didn't see me for a month! lol.

I've got 82% of my list put together. I'm splitting it up into categories. I will probably par down on some of the sub-lists (like zombie and mummy, which are much too long) when I come up with more. This is what I have so far.

Slasher
Halloween (1978)
Halloween II (1981)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Friday the 13th (1980)
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

1990s teen horror
Scream (1996)
Scream 2 (1997)
Scream 3 (2000)
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
Urban Legend (1998)
Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000)
The Faculty (1998)
Disturbing Behavior (1998)

1950s sci-fi B movies
When Worlds Collide (1951)
The Thing (1951)
It Came from Outer Space (1953)
The War of the Worlds (1953)
Them! (1954)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
The Blob (1958)

J-HorrorThe Ring - 2002 ( ... )

I'll comment with my list in the next day or so so you can see what I'm planning on. The easiest way is to watch about three movies a day. Also, last year there were 5 wildcards where you could use them for whatever you wanted. I used mine for Supernatural most weeks. I can only assume that the same will apply this year.

If, for some reason, the community isn't doing it again this year, I still plan on it so we can be buddies :D

Have you seen The Alphabet Killer yet? I watched it a few months ago and I was nearly bored to tears. Also, did you know there is a Cabin Fever 2 out?
