Or, to summurise crudely, big bangs and story are not mutually exclusive, but you can't have them both all the time and have to find the correct balance to suit the audience.

That's about it, I really think that the Dragon in HP4 put the narrative on pause for 3:00 of the 4:55 it was onscreen...

This was meant to be the companion piece to a video essay I did for Uni, and LJ was the best place for me to post this text, but YouTube has banned the video because I used some music from Harry Potter in it; frustrating.

But a dragon is a great visual and there's no way you can write it as well as you can screen it.

Same thing applies to combat scenes in movies.

I don't know, I much preferred the dragon scenes in the books to the ones in the films. Not least because I really dislike the current vogue for two-legged dragons.
