"I really want to just stay with Sora, let Riku look like an idiot, maybe open the kid’s eyes to the fact that he’s just a selfish brat and the universe doesn’t owe him anything." There is some serious hilarity (is that a word? o.O) in this fic. I like the POV a lot! I like the way this Keyblade thinks! This story is funny, empowering, and just flat out AWESOME! Just some food for thought but... Can't the Keyblade be wielded for destruction?
I like to think the legends of the Keyblade, like all legends, got corrupted and twisted over the years.
The way I see it, there are three ways that a Keybearer, chosen by a benevolent force, can be seen as a destroyer in legend...
1) The Keybearer fails to save the world from destruction despite his or her best efforts. 2) The evil forces the Keybearer is fighting are old and established (knocking kings off their thrones and the like) and defeating them brings chaos and ruin upon the land. 3) Forces of Light are the oppressors, the Keyblades acts as a weapon of Darkness to restore balance.
All of this could be misconstrued as destruction, chaos, and ruin from an historical perspective, even if the situation at the time called for it.
