[Gem has been making one of her normal sojourns out just past the City, listening to the Outlands; last time she had been here, the Creator had appeared.
Hearing a small ruckus, Gem wanders over to what looks to be a strange creature being overwhelmed by tiny grid bugs.
Without thinking, Gem quickly picks up the tiny black thing, and uses her shoes to smash the rest of the gridbugs, kicking them far away. Damn things always tracking where they weren't wanted.]
[THANK THE USER. Rinzy squirms uncomfortably at being picked up but the 'bugs are gone now, and that's definitely an improvement. He hisses angrily at them and nurses the stripes across his fur.
[And after quite some time now, he'll glance up at his savior.
[Well isn't that a surprise? In a surprisingly low and grating voice for so tiny a creature, he speaks.]
[Ack hey careful there! He's a delicate little thing! There's a mewl of discontent and a glare.]
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrinzlerrrr [Hope you can understand that, because he doesn't really like to talk too much. He's also quite exhausted from his little adventure so his mood is a bit on the bitchy side.]
C.L.U walked along thinking about how many more improvements he could do to the Grid. There was always more. Or perhaps he would enter the games to derezz some opponents and let off some steam. He noticed a black object moving on the ground as he approached it.
'Rinz kitty? Is that you?,' [He bent lower for a better view.
[C.L.U frowned at the gridbugs assault on poor Rinzy. He pulled a few off and crushed them under foot.] Come with me, Rinzy. I'll eradicate the bugs but first we need to get you out of here. Back to my ship. [He picked Rinzy up in his arms as he walked back.]
[Again with the carrying? Oh well. Rinzy doesn't have the energy to fight that right now. His sides heave as he takes in quick little breaths, trying not to amplify the pain in any way.]
[Anon isn't quite sure what the tiny black thing is, but it's being overwhelmed by miniature Gridbugs, and those he knows about. He reaches down and picks up the small program by the scruff of its neck, lifting it out of the way and onto a clear patch of ground. With his other hand, he draws his disc and slams it into the ground in the middle of the bugs. The resultant shockwave derezzes the ones that have already emerged, and there don't seem to be any more coming from the rock. Yet, anyway.
[Anon crouches down to look at the tiny orange-lined program, cocking his head on one side and wondering what it is.]
[Well now his pride has been injured too after being tossed aside. Thanks for that, Anon. He mewls unhappily, getting to his feet unsteadily and wobbling a bit. His legs give out and he sprawls onto the ground again, orange ringed tail twitching in irritation.
[Not tossed, exactly. More like moved. And sorry, Rinzy, but to a security program, your life is more important than your pride.
[Anon isn't quite sure what to do, but it's clear that the little program has been injured and he needs to help it. The problem is, the only places he knows of where a damaged program can get help are either at the Arena or the End of Line club, and both of those are a lightcycle's ride away in the middle of the city. The program needs attention now. Still, he could always put the program on his lightcycle - it's not so big that it would be a problem.
[Before he does that, though, he presses a palm to an undamaged area of its body and sends a gentle pulse of energy into it. It's a security program ability, meant to help programs relax, and it's about all he can do in the way of first aid.]
[OOC: Anon keeps referring to Rinzy as 'it' because he has no idea what a cat is or that Rinzy's male. As soon as he learns better, he'll start calling Rinzy 'he'. Also, it occurs to me that the Grid needs paramedics.]
[Rinzy makes a soft, scared little mewl and trembles all over at the other Program's touch. He relaxes after a moment, however, the extra energy reassuring. He can't help but think this security program is vaguely familiar..]
[OOC: completely understandable! and yes, we should let flynn know XD]
//ah, continuation -plops Roy in here-ourliloperationMay 4 2011, 14:02:53 UTC
Roy had been in his little hideout, the one he had formed post convincing of his feline counterpart, working on potential ENCOM projects that could've waited until he returned home, but the systems worked increasingly faster here than on the other side
( ... )
Roy you just...saved his life! Ignoring the pain, Rinzy made a soft little purr before rubbing up against his User friend. No suggestions, not really. At least, he doesn't speak up. The purr died off into a whimper and the poor kitten shivered.
Roy put the lightcycle on autopilot long enough to notice the seeping damage, whimpering at the sight of his injured companion. "Oh, Rinz~..." he whispered before gingerly taking the disc off, fixing the injury and reputting the disc once again on his back.
The car shifted, causing Roy to grab the wheel, autocorrecting the vehicle back under his control. "We'll be home shortly, buddy."
Rinz submitted almost sulkily to Roy's ministrations. He stayed as still as he could aside from the trembling that shuddered through his tiny body. It took some effort to keep quiet, but he didn't want to worry Roy any more than he already was.
The repairs spread fairly quickly, but even that didn't help the sudden exhaustion that had come on from his 'adventure'. He curled up the best he could against 'his' User, his orange-ringed tail still for once.
He'd been tracking this particular nest for the past day or so, only ever seeing on or two of the smaller bugs at a time, waiting for them to lead him back to the nest, because they always swarmed from somewhere, and destroying the nest made more sense than just smashing the singles and pairs of bugs that showed up.
He wasn't sure what it was that they'd found to eat, but clearly it was in distress and no match for the torrent of bugs it was now facing. He dropped from his perch, and with three quick swipes of his disc dispatched most of the swarm, sending the rest scattering.
The kitty was picked up by the scruff of the neck and brought to eye-level, "Not a bit." Which had been his first suspicion.
Why is it always by the scruff? Rinzy was more than happy to be safe, there's no denying that, but the scruff just felt...weird. Unnatural. He squirmed uncomfortably for a moment before discovering that this only made his injuries throb, instead choosing to go limp.
Rinzy hissed at...wait...hang on...himself? In a more humanoid form, of course, but still him. That was weird. That had to be some kind of odd glitch.
"Rrrrrrrinz," he growled in his gruff little kitty voice.
Humanoid form and purple circuits instead of red, granted, it was a reddish, bruise-colored purple, but purple nonetheless. He was arching a brow though it was invisible behind the faceplate of his helmet, because this was one of the strangest things that had ever happened to him, "I see." Because he could, it was pretty obvious, really, just who the critter was.
Realizing that the critter, Rinz, apparently, had taken some damage he grumbled softly, couldn't just leave it out here in its current state, the few remaining bugs would probably be back to cannabalize what was left of the ones that had been crushed, "You need energy, to repair." And with that, the critter was tucked carefully into the crook of one arm as he headed back into the city.
Rinzy didn't bother fighting. He had very little energy to spare that wasn't concentrated on simply keeping him online and assisting on very minor repairs. The reparation was quickly abandoned, however, and he relaxed in the arms of his other self.
Of one thing he could be certain; he was safe. He knew the other him, whoever it was exactly, would assist and protect him. What the purple circuitry was supposed to mean he could hardly calculate at the present, but he knew he'd be protected for now.
He mewled quietly, snuggling into a more comfortable position.
