[fic] Kindred Spirits [xover, yuri]
This is CRACK, YURI, and a CROSSOVER! OMG, someone kill greywing! ... It was going to happen at some point. NOT FMA, so I spare some of you.
Kindred Spirits
Their eyes have a chance meeting at university. For just a moment, the ocean of turmoil calms beneath the amused scrutiny and a hesitant smile answers the one that seems so perpetually serene.
They know.
They don’t rush to make introductions although they pass each other often around campus and exchange courteous nods. Sometimes even appraising looks. Once a hello. One has an accent; the other finds it charming.
It is just a matter of time.
They are underclassman and upperclassman and somehow this is only nominally surprising. This does not stop them from agreeing to have lunch one day between classes and when this leads to dinner another night, they make a conscious effort to keep conversation casual. Somehow this evolves into a dark bedroom with the curtains drawn tightly and the tension so thick they choke on each other’s breaths.
Then there is only touch and sight and smell and taste and though they are fumbling, they are eager and willing and these are things neither has yet found in another. It is liberating and frightening and they are as ravenous as wolves.
But they hesitate.
They stare at each other in the darkness until the older one reaches up and cup’s the other’s trembling chin. Her thumb traces the curve of those parted lips, amazed at their softness and the sudden vulnerability in the dips at the corners. There is no smile there now.
“There’s someone else,” the older one whispers. It is not a question. The younger one doesn’t even answer. Even in the darkness her eyes shimmer, communicating not quite an apology, not quite remorse.
They’d known.
But even so Arisugawa Juri draws her down, and when their lips meet, Fujino Shizuru closes her eyes.
Both imagine they’re kissing someone else.
