I absolutely enjoyed the 12-episode, WAFFy, lighthearted, endearing, low-key, make-me-laugh-out-loud, feel-good fest that is "Taishou Yakyuu Musume" (Taishou Baseball Girls). The light sprinkling of yuri elements was just a bonus. Thank you, TV Tropes, for alerting me to its existence

All of GiTS stuff dubbed is pretty good - and I think it works better 'cause it's so fast paced and chock full of jargon and action. To have to deal with text on the screen in addition to all of that would make it too overwhelming - and the world of GiTS is overwhelming to begin with. (Also good dubbing: Cowboy Bebop, which I'm revisiting due to a Christmas present XD)

I'm divided because while I agree that the show is so information- and action-heavy that listening to your own native language track can make following it easier, sometimes I want text to clarify things. And the dub doesn't bother to translate a lot of the signs and text. That can be frustrating for an episode like "Chat!Chat!Chat!" where the Major is sitting around in a chatroom talking about the Laughing Man and a lot of scrolling text appears as the audience chimes in to comment on what people are saying. I can make some of it out, but the kanji is usually beyond me. GitS is so attentive to detail that missing these little things is a little RAWR. I think the original Japanese seiyuu plays the Major a little cooler in temperament as well, but that's a nitpick.

Oh, Cowboy Bebop! It was its quality dub track that did justice to the story that helped bring so many people into the anime fold. XD

I'm mostly blaming a combination of TV Tropes and pixiv for my sudden nostalgia. XD

I think I simply always have a gut desire to have the native, original track. It's just the sense that the directing there seems closer to original intent.

Section 9 is badass, but I think the way it's shown is always a bit unsettling. These are government officials who are above the law and so I think it gives an edge to the proceedings of the show that can give you pause when you see how the Section--government officials!--cavalierly deals out punishment on every level, from mowing down opponents, to blackmailing them, to hacking their brains contrary to protective laws
