I feel dumb commenting on a story that's almost two years old, but I had to say something about this piece. I've been on a Riza Hawkeye fanfic rampage and I'm so glad I found this one. I love this explanation for her short hair. Gorgeously haunting -- the image of her father drawing on her back will stay with me for a long while and her thoughts about her mother was very poignant.
Never feel dumb commenting on an old story. Authors like comments whenever they come.
That said, I'd forgotten what I'd written in this piece--but it definitely reflects how creepy I always thought Hawkeye's father came off--and it was boggling to me that Hawkeye seemed to lack a mother-figure to buffer his presence, especially since FMA has so many mother figures (including Hawkeye herself to the Elric brothers).
