Drabble: BoP

Nov 03, 2006 01:11

Fandom: Birds of Prey
Characters: Dinah, Babs, Sin
Words: 100
Notes: Drabble! To waste posting space! And, despite appearances, it has nothing to do with any previous story (ok, so I just suck! D:). I've had so many random fic ideas lately and I sat down tonight with actual time to write and I blanked. *annoyed*

Drabbly! )

LOL! I would really like to know how much direction and input Simone gives to the BoP artists because I'd love to ask why the characters dress in horrible civvies 90% of the time (Babs being an exception 95% of the time). And why sometimes Babs uses SUV wheelchairs and other times she has streamlined manual ones. Or why she has 100000 wheelchairs anyway (does she upgrade her wheelchair with every hardware upgrade she does?). But, yeah, gonna really miss Dinah. *sigh* At the same time... it looks like she's going with Manhunter... and if Simone can nail Manhunter and all her snark... and is willing to throw her together with Helena, not to mention assuming that Babs would try to control her... oh man. ... But, Dinah. ;_;

Thank you for the slice of life quality you bring to your fic.It's about the only thing I can write. =D The one thing I've discovered since getting into mainstream comics is how much we miss out on. Little details about their lives outside of crime-fighting appear in random comments but we don't get to see much of it ( ... )

I'm still upset that Dinah is pulled from BoP only to end up in the League (at whatever point). I could've accepted Dinah leaving much better if she didn't join another team (not only that, but she was appearing in the new JLA before BoP #99 ever came out) and cameo'd like crazy in BoP (because she better. Really!). I keep wondering if JLA or wherever Dinah ends up will even use or show Sin.

BoP introduced me to Dinah, so seeing her anywhere else--and I have been glancing at the new JLA just to see her--is strange. *sigh*

"Meltzer writing"? I don't think I've ever heard that expression.

As for plotting longer fics...it's overrated. I like reading slice of life for the fact the comics cannot convey the depth of emotional awareness.I'd like to think you can have it both ways: long and with plot, while exploring emotional depths. If I ever have anything resembling a plot in a fic, it's usually because I wanted an excuse/device/vehicle to explore some side of a character ( ... )
