Heigl, 29, phoned into the Ellen DeGeneres show on Tuesday to say her mother told her: "This year, you know, with The Sopranos women being nominated and it being their last year of the show, I really think they're going to win - so I don't want you to be disappointed if you don't."

i thought the exact same thing. but i was so crazy happy when she won. and her speech was adorable. :)

i think they fact that the george/izzie and george/callie issue became a whole ship war
proved that katherine heigl deserves her emmy.
i detest the idea of gizzie but i think she acted so well that she could incite so much emotions.

Wow...umm I knew she was going to win. I don't know if was of my own ignorance of the other people in the category or what but I didn't have any doubt that she was going to get the emmy. This was Katie's year. She's constantly in the press, very charismatic, and has a blockbuster movie under her belt with more movies coming out. She's popular right now. Also the episode she submitted? Time after time is chock full of her at her best acting abilities.
Her performance on grey's was more emmy worthy than all the other nominees.
