I don't know how many Grey's fans are also LOST fans, but the blond doctor from "The Others" is named Dr. Burke as we found out tonight. Couldn't ABC have come up with a different name?

I totally noticed that. Jack is Dr. Shephard, Blondie is Dr. Burke. It's obviously not just a coincidence.

next we'll have a Dr. Sloane or Bailey. Shepard was a coincidence (Lost came before Grey's by half a season), but Burke was not a mistake

lol i was TOTALLY thinking that. and then the doctor guy who was recruiting her? his last name was alpert or something, which just made me think of a certain jim halpert and i got all excited. although that has nothing to do with ABC because the office is on NBC but you know. i have a one track mind when it comes to that man. so.

See, tonite I was watching Bones for the first time ever and realized they had a Hodgins as opposed to CSI's Hodges doing basically the same thing.

That ends up happening on other networks too. Back when Friends was still on the air, they had Rachel Green and her dad was Dr. Green. (Not a regular character, but still mentioned enough for me to make the connection.) Dr. Green was also played by Anthony Edwards on ER, and I think his daughter's name on the show was Rachel too. I thought it was weird then too.

Oh and with Lost, its probably got a lot to do with their running theme of referencing philosophers such as they have with character names (Locke, Rousseau, Burke).
