What should happen to Mark now?

I've thought about this for the last couple of days and well... decided to make a post to hear other people's opinions... I've read lots of opinions on sites as tvline and such and most people think, now that Lexie is dead, Mark's story is told and he should die, too! An option Shonda left open...

I think mark is going to die. I don't WANT him to die, but he was SO sick, he was practically dying in the finale. Unless they get rescued right away, it would stand to reason he might not make it. I really hope arizona doesn't die, she's my favorite, but I have a friend who thinks arizona should die and then mark and callie should get together and be a couple. which I tihnk would be TERRIBLE... but I guess they would have to move on eventually and they have always had love for each other.

I hate to think of avery leaving, I love him, too.

I think that would be a bad idea, and I ship Mark/Callie as well as Callie/Arizona. It would be a bad idea for Shonda to kill off one half of a same-sex couple, though, and then have the other half get together with a man. That's a very bad message to send. It is different in fics, as long as the writers are careful to not write it in homophobic ways because Callie is bisexual. However, on tv, Calzona is one of the few gay relationships that exist. And after calling them Made for Each other, getting them married, and already having a storyline where Callie had Mark's child, it would end up being homophobic to have her get with a man again on tv

Yeah, I totally agree with you on this... I mean, it might take some time, but I think it IS possible to be happy with someone else. Maybe not int he "He/She's the love of my life" kind of way... that might be a "once in a lifetime" thing, but DO think someone can be happy again, even after a loss like this, so I simply hope, she does NOT kill off Mark OR Arizona... they should BOTH live...

I think, Mark and Callie work SO much better as friends... yes, they DID have a past and Sofia is the best proof, but I doubt they ever were more than attracted to each other... I don't think either one was ever "in love" with the other, so yeah... I hope, both - Mark and Arizona - will survive!

It has "only" been revealed that Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, James Pickens and Chandra Willson are definietly coming back, since they have all renewed their contracts for 2 years... all of the others are "in danger" still... so I don't really know... Shonda could definitely pull another death... and if so, I think it might be Mark... Jesse and Sarah Drew can still leave as well, would they want to... No renewal of the contracts yet either, so she has all options with those 2 as well...

Not sure about Mark, since - like I said - SO many people want him rather dead than with someone else at some point...

eeee i'm kind of late to the party but i really have no idea if mark will die or not. but if shonda is going to kill ANYONE it would be mark. killing arizona would be just too much loss to take on at once. ): especially for me since lexie was my favorite character (and i'm still butthurt over my other favorite character, izzie, for leaving). i love mark and grey's anatomy would not be the same without mcsteamy. hardcore slexie shipper alert. but is it kind of sad that a part of me wants him to die? sorry since he's your favorite character and all, but i really want him to be with lexie and if he could only do that in death now a part of me kind of supports this. ahh i'm going crazy! i want to hate on shonda so much but the show wouldn't be so addictive if it wasn't for her. i'm so torn whether i want mark to die or not. on one hand, he'd be with lexie in death. on the other hand, he has his baby with callie and arizona. plus grey's would be dramatically different if he wasn't there. ugh! this show is the reason why i'm

Well... I just can't stop loving Mark/Jackson... I don't even know why, but they got me bad... I haven'T shipped a "pairing" this much in... like forever... I mean, I do manips, I write fanfiction, I write a RPG, I do icons and artwork... EVERYTHING... so yeah... I just can't resist them, whatever happens, and I want jackson - IF Mark survivese - to just be there for Mark, even though it might be also hard for him. Lexie is his ex-girlfriend after all and it can't be easy to deal with this loss... for everyone...

I'm definitely not a Mark/Lexie shipper, really sorry, but of course I accept it and I always "accepted reality"... I mean, I'm not someone who thinks Mark will turn gay next Season or whatsoever. I KNOW the reality... ;-)

hahaha tbh i wouldn't mind mark turning gay. better than him staying with julia. i'm sure she is a nice individual but GOD i hated her. now that lexie's gone i'll probably start to get into the Mark/Jackson fandom (we need to conjure up a name for this...Mackson? hehehehe). although I do not see it happening, they'd be the most fun to ship in my dreams LOL... so yeah i'm hoping mark stays alive. because now i'm excited to get into a little Mark/Jackson and plus i don't want Callie and Arizona to lose him. ): i just wish he was able to be with Lexie cus i lpved them so much together. first shonda takes away Alex/Izzie for me, now Mark/Lexie! ugh haha oh well at least it'll be fun to watch for any adorable Mark/Jackson moments...i sincerely hope there are some!

I have completely different ships, I think *lol* I love Alex/April, and with the whole Jackson/April thing, that won't happen either... I see Jackson and April getting together after a looooooong time within Season 9... there will be a lot of "I want/I don't want" like always in "shondaland" and in the end they will be together and I hate it, because it destroys both of my ships *lol* But I'M really used to that...

and I was already almost prepared for Lexie and Mark to get back together and didn't expect her to die, so I can understand how hard it must be for you. It would be the same if Jackson or Mark would die... I don't know if I could go on watching without the whole Mark/Jackson thing... about a Shipping name... Mackson is cute.. definitely "cuter" than what they came up first... "Slavery"... I was like O____________O and so was Shonda... and asked everyone NOT to use that "ship name" again... it was AWFUL... I also like Jark or Slovery or Averoan or such :D
