Maybe it was because Ruby had a sixth sense for impending stupid, or maybe it was because she just knew Sam and knew that Bela was probably going to be the straw that broke the camel's back, but either way, she knew that she had to do something. There were other ways to get Dean out of his deal. Sam just had to be desperate enough to consider it.
When Sam arrived at the crossroads, he was going to find a very pissed off blond, arms crossed in front of her, standing over the spot where Sam would have to bury the box to get the crossroad demon's attention, and not planning on moving anytime soon. If Sam wanted to sell his life away for his brother's, then so be it, but he would have to go through her first.
"Yeah, and you don't need to stoop to selling your soul in order to get him out of it," she said with a slight growl, not budging from where she was standing. "I keep telling you that you have to tools to save your brother right there in front of you, but you don't listen, Sam."
She leaned forward slightly, looking up at him. "You could take them all, Sam. Without even blinking. You just need to let me help you."
"Can you guarantee that? Make it happen in two weeks so that I can get rid of any and all demons that would send hell hounds to his door? Swear that there is NO chance that it will fail and he'll die?"
He slammed the car door and started towards her, his eyes showing his desperate state.
"Because right now he has more to live for that I ever will, and unless you can tell me that, then this is not up for discussion."
