The pre-release went off fairly well. We had 34 players.

For some reason, the first few rounds of a big tournament are always the most troublesome, chaotic, and stressful ones.

The first part of anything is when people are accustoming themselves to the procedure. Maybe there's some players there who have been to 100 tournaments & can go through them blindfolded, but I'm sure that's not all of them.

Do you need a hand for the release? again, we won't be participating, but I don't mind coming to help hand stuff out/help out

I think I'll be okay. I have the other FNM judge helping me this Saturday for the release event. Originally we'd just setup the store on the day of the tournament. However, in the last year, we've seen more traffic. This has lead us to set up the tables and chairs for a tournament the night before. I also have a few more ideas of things I can prepare the night before a tournament that should help cut down the setup time.
