"It happens now or else it won't." (Part Two)

You've got my vote unless Helen Mirren's willing.

No offense, my dear, but Helen Mirren just has a whole lot more onscreen acting experience and she'd be damned good as the Doctor.

It sounds, and looked, like something akin to a homecoming. I'm glad I could watch you win even though I was so far away.

And your last entry was signed, "Tired, In A Good Way," and I smiled when I read that.

I think the part that went over best was that they gave the award for best novel to the best novel. That's a rarer occurrence than it should be.

Readercon has kaffeeklatches scheduled for 9:00 am on Sunday, which seems unusually cruel. At least that hotel is usually good about providing actual coffee.

I'd only ever peeped into Kelly Link's at Readercon, where there were muffins and much coffee. Which is what I expected in New Orleans. But no. Also, fuck 9:00 a.m. No way that's ever gonna happen.

I'll be there at 9:00 a.m. to fulfill my auctorial obligations, but I'm not promising anyone alertness or sobriety. Not that it matters, since I doubt we'll have an audience at that hour.

I've been to 2 Kaffeeklatches and both had tea and coffee (but no pastries), and one had cookies. I really enjoyed both and am glad yours ended up successful!

As well they must. In the future, should I ever do another, it will be on that condition.
