"This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin..."

Not exactly the best morning ever. Overcast and drear. The temperature is going up to 57˚F, which means I fucking ought to get off my ass and be Outside. But I won't, because I took my break (during which the weather was wet and freezing) and now I have to work. And, besides, getting back to how this morning sucks, I hardly slept last night, and ( Read more... )

Maybe popcorn? Plain air-popped popcorn has only about 30 calories per cup.

My teeth are too lousy to eat popcorn, alas (as I love it). Though I can't stand it without gobs of salt and butter.

When I read your post, my brain linked it to CRK's immediately-preceding reply post (I can't stand (popcorn) without gobs of salt and butter.). This makes for an unfortunate connection with snack food (kitten-dusted popcorn), rather than with the lovely picture of Selwyn.

Glad to hear writing on the new story is progressing well. I imagine that a novella is a nice change-up from a novel, especially one that was such a pain in the arse.

I know it's Jethro Tull month for you, and I was thinking, is it me, or isn't "Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll, Too Young To Die" such a romantic song? Well, existentianslist romantic, almost tragic. I guess I am weird for thinking such things. My dad is a big fan of Jethro Tull, and he's a baby boomer, so I guess that band was part of his generation. Personally, I think they are pretty good.

But for some reason, when it comes to December, I almost exlusively listen to Dead Can Dance.

I'm technically a boomer (1964 is often cited as the last year of that generation), and yeah, it's music from my childhood.

I'll have to think about it....
