Very little time this ayem, so I'm reposting yesterday's entry, with a few amendments. I figure a lot of people don't see the LJ on Sunday anyway:

I dont really pay attention to what day of the week it is, mostly its what days I have to do things on, so Sunday isnt a big deal here.

I apologize, but I'm going to be lazy and not do the button-click research it'd probably take to find the answers, but how does Aunt Beast's book club work?

We acquire the book (obviously) and you devote a weekly/biweekly post to said book, and there's discussion in comments?

Also, I just looked up the NYT Best Sellers list to see what your competition was for this week, and I dare say, The Drowning Girl: A Memoir certainly belongs up there. The communication major in me is curious how well it's marketed, though.

Even such, I'm thoroughly glad that I read it before the semester started or else I wouldn't be getting my homework done, and I suspect even my own daily word count would suffer. It was one of the best books I've read this year. So congrats on that.

Not really. You acquire the book, if you want, and you read it. Not much in the way of discussion, because I hate book clubs. Mostly, the idea is that I point people towards and encourage them to read what I consider worthwhile books.

Marketing? What's marketing? The publisher does virtually nothing, and I can afford to do very little myself. And, better yet, no one knows what makes people buy books. This time, for example, I used Kickstarter and spent over $4k to make the crowd sourced book trailer, but the book didn't sell any better than The Red Tree (which sold for shit).

It was one of the best books I've read this year.

Thank you.
