Thanks for the link to the LJ article. It hadn't occurred to me that LJ might one day disappear, and sooner rather than later, so thanks for the heads up! I have a permanent account and in my fantasy mind I imagined LJ and I growing old together, but alas, this is not to be!

I guess I better check out Dreamwidth.

OK, I've finally given in, set up a Dreamwidth account, and ported my 9+ years of LJ over there as back-up. Still can't find many of my flist over there. Do people tend to keep the same names on Dreamwidth?
