If you dont speak of things, that means they stay in the shadows. Speaking out takes courage.

There are a lot of evils in the world that we would want to not exist.

Writing about them is a choice, and if a reader doesnt care for those words, they dont have to read them.

Precisely. Only, many of them believe shining light on evil begets evil...

That is a perfectly elegant way of expressing what I feel about the subject.

There is no purpose in writing (other than to make money), if we do not tell the truth to the best of our abilities.

If only rape did not happen, or happen so often, so it did not turn up in writing as much as it did. I give you a lot of credit for being able to speak/write about it.

No, this is not too much information, Beast. Not at all. I'm only sorry you suffered this. I admire your bravery for admitting it.

I understand this to a certain degree- The first story I had published had male rape in it. I can't say I celebrated it at all. I knew something about that; somebody hurt me once. I've tried to turn the fear against itself since then; I'm damned if it would make me a misandrist.

I can't imagine anyone celebrating rape (other than a hardcore misandrist or misogynist). Certainly, that's not what I was doing. Anyway, thank you.

Hell, maybe that came out garbled. But as long as I didn't offend you. And you're welcome.

Hey, you know what? I agree with you on this one. I have a rant of my own which I am contemplating (but Real Life may drive out of my brain). Essentially, I'm seeing too much blowback from twidiots like the one you're mentioning...and those getting hurt aren't those who need to learn, but those already sensitized who then take it too deeply to heart.
