House (1977) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076162/
Kuroneko (1968) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122136/
Both have been released by Criterion, but can be streamed through Hulu. Both are strange Toho productions, each odd in a completely different way than the other.

They've certainly got an eclectic catalog. In the laserdisc days they were the go-to for truly classic films that weren't deemed marketable any more by the big studios, but when DVDs took off the studios came to their senses. Still, I'm more likely to check out a Criterion release - while I might not agree with every choice, it's clear that someone there felt strongly about that film.

Screw the turons. The time has come to swim, regardless. I mean to get two swimming days in this week.
