Today, in Providence, we can pretend it's summer. Sunny. The window's open. Presently, 80˚F (after a low of 58˚[!!!]) last night), with a forecast high of...oh, wait. Sorry. Strike that. If you do go see Dark Knight, lot of it was filmed in IMAX and w/ absolutely no 3D, I might add. IMAX at PVD Mall may be worth it since it's early showing.

See, that pretty much guarantees I won't go. Just can't do crowds in theaters. They are inevitably noisy, at best. Obnoxious at worst.

I might try to see Dark Knight Rises tomorrow night, if I can get enough done during the day.

Two movies I've watched recently that you might enjoy -

Both have been released by Criterion, but can be streamed through Hulu. Both are strange Toho productions, each odd in a completely different way than the other.

Maybe. But I'm sort of burned out on Japanese movies, and the whole Japanese ghost thing, even more so.

I'm often baffled by what Criterion chooses to release.

They've certainly got an eclectic catalog. In the laserdisc days they were the go-to for truly classic films that weren't deemed marketable any more by the big studios, but when DVDs took off the studios came to their senses. Still, I'm more likely to check out a Criterion release - while I might not agree with every choice, it's clear that someone there felt strongly about that film.

I really loved Savages--the end was a little hinky--But Benecio Del Toro was great. And the two entrepreneurs reminded me of my 30's. Glad I got out alive though. The Life--not the movie.

A couple days ago I had a dream that I was driving through London and the streets were flooded. I could see my vehicle from the outside at one point as I was driving and the water was 8 to 10 inches up the side of the tires.
