Howard Hughes vs. the Clever Monkeys

Apr 13, 2012 12:56

Oh my fucking dogs, why can't people leave fucking well enough alone? What am I on about this time? The fact that I just discovered that LivefuckingJournal has decided it would be a good idea to stick a tiny little pair of scissors and a dotted line in front of the text whenever a blogger uses a cut. Get it? Cut along the dotted line. How cute. How ( Read more... )

I saw that this morning and inflicted an irritated e-mail on rushthatspeaks, who has nothing whatsoever to do with the layout of Livejournal. I really thought I hadn't just managed to miss that particular bit of cleverdickery.

It seems as if Steve, Rachelle, Greg, Rachel, and I done good.

The evidence does tend to point that way.

the new story, "Cages I," that I wrote with corucia

Oh, I should like to see more of that world.

Me, too.

Oh, I like that word!

It's yours!

("Too many damn good words have been jettisoned from out our withering lexicon . . .")

Have an article about Darwin's daughter Henrietta, by the way. Speaking of familiar things assuming different forms.

I frequently have the same response to being told that I will "absolutely love" something, unless the person making the suggestion is someone who knows me pretty well. If I'm recommending something to someone who isn't close to me, I try to say why I like it and why I'm suggesting it, and leave it to them to decide if it sounds interesting.

I've asked my local comic shop to order me a copy of Wolves, and am running down into Marietta to another shop to see if perhaps they have it in stock - I can always give the other one as a gift, right?

Do you know if there are any plans to release a collected volume, a la the Locke and Key books? Or is it a wee bit early in the process to be thinking about such things?

I haven't dipped into the new Sirenia yet, but I have to tell you that the cover image is (to me) probably the most disturbing one you've chosen. Not that that's a bad thing.

There will be a hardback collection out in February.

It's one I've been wanting to use for a long time.

I noticed that today and thought it was odd. Stupid, but odd.

I'm pretty sure it was only implemented today. Anything that moronic can't long go unnoticed.
