The more I listen to Brown Bird, the more they amaze me.

Meyer should be lucky she's not getting the kind of treatment Al Copeland did from Queen Anne when he offended her. That was near-legendary.

Meyer should be lucky...wait, no she shouldn't. All luck should be stripped of her.

last year I thought someone had stolen our pumpkin...turns out we have thug squirrels. At least here in Edgewood.

That's terrifying.

I've had squirrels trying to drag my pumpkins off the front porch for a few days now. This may be a valid reason to not carve sugar pumpkins again.

I went a little out of my way to get the Canadian DVD of Ginger Snaps (it's in widescreen, has commentaries from director and screenwriter, deleted scenes, Easter eggs... Stateside DVD has bupkis) a couple years after I initially saw it.

I still remember what David J. Schow wrote in Black Leather Required about how "vampire fiction is the Star Trek of horror."

That said, while I have likely read more vampire fiction than is healthy (I dare say healthy is Dracula and I Am Legend and leaving it at that), I do like Kim Newman's Anno Dracula novels, and what he's had to say about vampires makes some kind of sense to me. He has hinted that he might write the Cullens (and, among others, Charlaine Harris's vampires) into whatever A.D. stories he might work on in future.

I didn't even know there was a widescreen edition, since it was made for TV! Crap.

Yes, but Star Trek has its moments.

(I dare say healthy is Dracula and I Am Legend and leaving it at that)

Oh, there are many other good ones I (and I hate Kim Newman's books; just dumb, dumb ideas).

I agree, Ginger Snaps is a must-see. I watched one of his other films, The Dark, and it was quite good as well.

I truly need to see that.

The imagery in the dialogue alone is worth it.

I can't type today.

Also, it's cool knowing that if someone were to try and drink my blood, they would die a horrible death.

That is pretty cool.

In case you haven't seen this: Modeselektor and Thom Yorke, "Shipwreck."

That is pretty cool.

Makes me feel sort of like Ripley No. 8 in the fourth Alien film.
