Not much in the mood for an entry today. We'll play a nice game of catch up tomorrow.

My thanks to everyone who has donated mine and kylecassidy's Drowning Girl Kickstarter project. At this point, it's 141% funded, and we still have twenty-eight days to go. And there are some amazing new rewards, soon to be announced. So, it's not too late. Also, people ( Read more... )

The abbreviation doesn't bother me as much as the sentiment. What is the alternative to laughing out loud? Laughing quietly, in your brain. And that is creepy. Every time I see a person just staring, I think they're laughing with their brains. And I become afraid.

That's still preferable to them killing you with their brains.

Also, it can be kind of a useful skill to laugh silently. I worked in a call center, and had this guy get over-the-top pissed at the company and was ranting at me over my phone. I was able to laugh without a sound. It was a good way to vent at him as he yelled at me. My co-workers knew I was laughing, though. The sentiment was still conveyed. (And they knew that in that job, you sometimes had to laugh.)

I try to follow your advice melissaleeg83 August 13 2011, 23:54:06 UTC
I don't use lol, I say haha after my little sister whose laugh is literally that. But as a big Raymond Chandler fan, reading that it was a dildo in place of the Maltese falcon, well I literally laughed out loud.
I'm going to see what I can do about donating a dollar, because even I as a broke chick with no job realize that I have at least that much in change in the bottom of my purse. I just need a moment to make sure my deposit is in my bank. I still feel like a git for donating just that much, but since you made the comment it makes it seem a little bit better.
