Wicked hot here in Providence. Summer finally arrived with a vengeance. We spent most of yesterday hiding in the middle parlor and the bedroom, the two cool rooms. Fortunately, you can proofread anywhere. Right now, it's 85˚F Outside and 81˚F in the cool part of the house. Here in my office, it's probably as warm as Outside. And...Spooky's about to ( Read more... )

That must be miserable with humidity. It's mostly a dry heat where I come from, but, it also gets regularly as high as 106. So while it's dry, asphalt gets turned into a giant skillet, and old people melt in direct sunlight.

So you're on faeblight now? Maybe I'll drop in. Same name?

It is, as we're by the sea. But we got a break today. The humidity's only in the high forties. We regularly see it near 100%.

I am (though we haven't officially moved the guild over). Same name, though I had to spell it Sellwyn, instead of Selwyn. Come!

Just sent you an email.

The world needs more AC. Screw the planet. All it does is chuck dinosaurs at us and give us weird monkey diseases. I'm going to put in three air conditioners and sleep on a giant styrofoam peanut.

Screw the planet.

I choose the heat, instead, as, much of it as I can bear. And not just as an environmentalist. I don't want the crazy electric bills.

Is "The Collier's Venus (1893)" one of your Cherry Creek stories?
