Yes, it is that. This entry is the 3,000th I've written since coming to LiveJournal way back on April 15th, 2004. And yeah, that's a lot of time and a lot of words. Though, truly, I first began keeping an online journal on Blogger, years before I met LJ, on November 24th, 2001. But, here I am at 3,000, as LiveJournal reckons time ( Read more... )

Well, the church says that all gays burn in hell, so I think their hands are tied.

Although I think a church forbidding a marriage is like being told that you can't play with someone else's imaginary friend.

Not far off. It's not that I actually give much of a shit about marriage - I don't. It's that withholding those rights - or any rights - from a portion of the population is abominable.

Saw in my inbox this morning that Rift is on sale for $4.99 the next week. Thought about picking it up just because, but turns it out really more like $20 since it doesn't include a free month.

Drat.

Still a very good deal. It was $40 when we got it.

And it would be great to have you in the guild...

Oh, thank you. Unfortunately I really have no idea how to role play, to be honest. I've always just played games as a gamer.

I am Jack's Recognition that Ms. K Doesn't Want to Engage in Conversation about Civil Unions and Jack is Totally Fine with That.

Spooky was just telling me that WoW is now offering the same deal offered by LotRO, and soon to be offered by CoX.

CoX's planned f2p doesn't have a level cap, it's just restricting what new shinies you'll have access to. Actually, there are other restrictions (can't join SGs, blocked access to broadcast channels, mail, and tells - which seems to be an anti-spam measure), but for the most part you get everything up that didn't require an add-on expansion before. Returning/Reactivating players actually get more than that, but still a bit less than actual subbed players.

In any regard, yes, congratulations on 3000 posts.

CoX also restricts you to 2 characters, total. Which kind of sucks, but still...

I only ever had two I cared about (which were actually two versions of the same character.

But I'm not an altaholic.

As a returning player, you'd get 2+ whatever you had earned/unlocked (which is probably not much, but you'd keep the boosters). And you'd get tells & SG access. Side by side (subject to change) list here.
