I've been looking at the images and reading the news coming out of Japan for the past hour, and I can't do it anymore for now. This is what an 8.9 earthquake and a 33-foot tsunami does when there are people and cities (and nuclear power plants) nearby. I have no friends or family in Japan, but I know those who do. This is an excellent bit of information on donating to disaster relief. I thought I'd mention it here, because if you concur and pass it along, it'll reach a lot more people than I can in my much smaller sphere of influence.

Yes, it's dull, but I am asking you as a friend to read this.

I'm so looking forward to reading The Drowning Girl: A Memoir. The more you talk about it, the more antsy I get about acquiring a copy.
