Slept halfway decently last night, but, still, I'm not awake this early, early afternoon (it's only just eight past noon for those of us on CaST). And the bitter cold lingers, 30F (feels like 21F), and likely will...maybe until spring, which comes in late June. I'm wearing too many clothes, which is never pleasant ( Read more... )

A friend turned me on to “Twin Peaks” just before it aired. It’s one of those shows where you realize how damned important a director is since Lynch pulled decent acting from actors who sailed into obscurity. Wait until you reach the David Duchovny episodes. Outstanding.

Did you ever watch “American Gothic’? It ran for one season from 1995-96. It’s a hilarious yet deeply disturbing “good vs. evil” romp created by, I kid you not, Shaun Cassidy. Yeah.

Yesterday’s first person discussion created mental “but wait” “what if…” “do you mean” sputters so I gave up. It’s a great topic for a panel because if I understand you correctly too many people are doing it all wrong.

Never even heard of it.

My mom called me one night in '95...

"There's a show on TV right now... What is it?" she asked.
"There are a lot of shows on TV right now, mom. Can you narrow it down?"
"The show you like."
"I have no idea. None of my shows are on tonight."
"Bullshit. It's got a little boy and there's words written on the wall in blood. And the devil just showed up, but he's the sheriff or something. This has to be something you watch."

And I'd never heard of it then, and I've still only seen the first episode, despite having the entire series in our DVD collection (a gift from a friend a few years back). I just haven't had the time to dedicate to it. I do like Gary Cole (particularly as Lumbergh in Office Space), so I do plan to watch more.

Do watch it. Gary Cole plays his role with just the correct amount of "yeah, I'm evil, nudge-nudge-wink-wink, fuck you" attitude.

I suspect the in addition to "the holidays" there is a certain drop in commenting due to "the new WoW expansion".

Perhaps, but it seems unlikely.

Beautiful! Thank you. I may actually contact Esao Andrews about working together at some point.

Awesome...I saw his work and it seemed to me it dovetailed aesthetically with you, but I didn't want to presume.

It's funny you mention TWIN PEAKS as, just 10 minutes before reading this entry, I had been reading the TWIN PEAKS and TWIN PEAKS: Fire Walk With Me trivia on IMDB. And I can't believe I had forgotten Bowie was in the movie.

I've been thinking lately of watching this series to see what all the fuss was about, since I never watched it either.
