"Keys are rare. There’s a dozen locks standing in your way."

The heat is still bad. We're holed up in my office with Dr. Muñoz. We'll likely spend most of the day in here.

And I've gotten behind. On the blog, I mean. We'll, on everything, really.

I am behind on being alive.

I hit these points, and I'm just tired of blogging, tired of writing, tired of it all. And don't go telling me how I have to write, ( Read more... )

tired, editing, summer, ibooks, writing

My sympathies. Yesterday it was 100 in Richmond, and I am beginning to wish I had been born with gills, the humidity is so oppressive.

UNLOCK DOOR

"You can't do that."

LOOK AT DOOR

"It is dark."

LIGHT LAMP

"The lamp has gone out. You hear a noise."

WEST

"You have been eaten by a grue."

(A better death than heatstroke, no?)

"You have been eaten by a grue."

I actually had to look up "grue."

Thank you.

To quote Bob Dylan:

I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

Tied up, trapped and burnt out. If I can find the emergency all-stop button for this universe, I'm punching it. I just need to step out of this timeline for a few weeks to catch my breath and gather what's left of my very pulled apart thoughts. *teeth-gnashing*

Are you taking applications for mothmen by any chance? I'm a great mumbler and have spent most of my morning wanting to swoop down on several people and punch them in the neck. In addition, I blend into the shadows well and can make my eyes glow red. The only payment I need is to be feared and invisible in this world.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure if I ever managed to step out, I would be unable to find any reason to step back in again.

Alas, they came unbidden, and I'm looking for no more of them. But I know it's the thought that counts.

*whispers* I've always figured my odds of stepping out were much better if I gave the impression I'd come back willingly.

Alas, they came unbidden, and I'm looking for no more of them.

Ah well. Thanks for the courtesy of a reply, even if it's a rejection notice. I'm just going to keep working on my scream and apply for that banshee position then.

A break from the humidity and heat should be knocking on your door tomorrow. It's considerably cooler and not sticky here today after the front moved through.

I think a universal wave of "fed up" has washed over everyone I know. Each one for a different reason, but it's definitely a trend.

Yeah, it's headed this way. But, somehow that makes it worse. The temps sing so wildly here in New England that it's difficult in the summer to ever acclimate.

"Schulz and Peanuts" is a wonderful biography, conditions permitting.

It looked good, though, I admit, I was a bit put off by Schulz' Xtianity (even though it was a fairly moderate, tolerant Xtianity).
