"There's a fear I keep so deep. Knew its name since before I could speak."

The weather is still sunny today, if a bit cooler. But I have the office window open anyway, because rain is coming tomorrow, and I want all the fresh air I can get before things get wet again. Spring comes so slowly to Providence, compared to Atlanta and Birmingham. Of course, it would be equally true to say that spring comes so quickly to Atlanta ( Read more... )

I bought a copy of one of your books, since it's horror and that's what I love. It may take some time for me to get to reading it, but I will.

I'm glad you're doing well!

Actually...I have often insisted that I do not write horror, but I get stuck with the label, anyway. Regardless, thanks, and I hope you enjoy the book.

I did find myself wondering, yesterday, how Lovecraft would feel about someone writing a sequel to "The Hound" to the music of Polly Jean Harvey and Patti Smith

No idea, but I approve.

then someone on Facebook pointed out to me that Patti Smith had actually appeared at one of the Lovecraft Film Festivals in Portland, where she read some of HPL's poetry.

That is awesome. Are there recordings?

I think the warmer weather and the trip to Cambridge on Thursday have done me a world of good (my thanks again to Greer, Sonya, and Chris).

Then my work here is not done, because I expect to be showing you around Crescent Beach and Two Lights before autumn, but I'm very glad.

Oh, and the octopus has now been sexed, and his name will definitely be Nemo.

It is most appropriate.

I don't know if you've read Patti Smith's new memoir about her and Robert Mapplethorpe, but it is lovely and mesmerizing. Highly recommended...

I never knew there was such a thing as a "Gloomy Octopus". How cool.
